UPCOMING EVENTS

Thursday, 7/23 – Feel the Beat – Organ Donation Campaign Kick Off Happy Hour @ Shine

shOOey says Did you know there are more than 100,000 individuals currently waiting for a life-saving organ transplants? Did you know that 18 people die every day waiting for an organ transplant? My father would not be here today had it not been for a life-saving liver transplant that took place almost 6 years ago today.

Please join us for our FREE happy hour at Shine as we kick off our Feel The Beat campaign, with a goal to increase awareness, offer education and ultimately increase the number of sign-ups for organ donation. Our campaign will culminate at the LoveEvolution festival (formerly Lovefest) on Saturday 10/3/09 with our Feel The Beat float, with djs Floorcraft, Jonboy, shOOey, and more, sponsored by California Transplant Donor Network (www.ctdn.org). This event is the first of six exciting events that emcompass our total campaign.

We are especially excited to have two very special guest speakers: My dad and liver transplant survivor, Vincent Shu, and donor family member, Audrey Stout. Come hear their touching stories about how organ donation has changed their lives.

You can read my dad’s story here

Speakers
Vincent Shu, liver transplant recipient… my POPS! :) Audrey Sasso-Stout, donor family member

Cocktail beats by DJ’s: Shissla (Space Cowboys), Zach Moore (Deep End), Seven (Vivid)

Tasty treats provided by award-winning restaurant, Sauce

Drink specials by Shine

If you feel compelled to sign up to be an organ and tissue donor before you check out this event, you can do so by going here

Otherwise, we will have donor registry sign-up forms at the event.

If you are already an organ donor, we welcome you to join us anyway… what better way to spend a few hours after work, winding down with good friends, music, drinks and food. YOU can help make a difference by encouraging a friend to join us at our soiree to hear about how organ donation can affect the lives of so many. Please help spread the word about our non-profit event by passing this invitation.

Ahoy! Firstly, on behalf of the entire Space Cowboy crew, I’d like to thank everybody who came out to Sand by the Ton this past weekend. Now, lets get on to our own summer spectacular. As always the proceeds go to our non-profit quest to keep your galaxy groovin’, including a very special trip we’ll be making to the playa this year…

Sunday Brunch at Triple Crown, Shipshape on Aug. 2nd, recommend Kalrissian at Red Devil Lounge tonite & more!!!

Posted by 8Ball Fri, 17 Jul 2009 21:13:00 GMT

Hello Friendly Person:

Short intro this week, because after a fun night of sucking dust on the dancefloor over at Sand By The Ton, I caught a damn cold! The main thing I want to do is give big thanks and recognition to the Sand By The Ton people, who put togther an amazing, unique event. Everyone who was involved with putting that juggernaut together should be sincerely proud, and I take my cowboy hat off to all of youse.

We’ve got a bunch of events coming up, including Brunch at Triple Crown this Sunday, and our summer party at Kelly’s Mission Rock next month. Also, I want to draw your attention to my recommendation for tomorrow night TONIGHT—the local hip hop act Kalri$$ian (http://kalrissianbaby.com) PWND the Sand By The Ton party, and they’re playing Red Devil Lounge tomorrow night, if you’re not otherwise indisposed.

A bartender, a talent show (and what talent!!), and a fantastic damn cover of “Freaks of the Industry!” If you’re not booked on Friday night, do yourself a favor and check these guys out! (Kalrissian is playing between The Feed & headliners LORD T AND ELOISE)
Advance: $8, Day of show: $10

NEW MUSIC

New Mix from DJ Deckard – Party People
Party People is mainly inspired by Big Beat music from 1999-2000 where I was introduced to club culture. Party People is all about putting a smile on your face. It’s my summertime boombox mix.
