Snowfest 2010!

Damn it’s cold… I thought I moved to California to escape this (or maybe it was just my family I was running from?). Anyway that was a long time ago, and I’ve clearly softened up over the years; at one point I even moved to SoCal in a partial attempt to warm my ailing self… But soon after, I started dearly missing two things: my friends and Tahoe. Luckily I had SnowFest… that special time of year when both converge! I would always make the trip back for it… even when I lived in that terrifying part of our country called the Midwest (cold AND flat; what’s the point?), Always, the last weekend of February or the first weekend of March, this year it falls rather late: Friday, March 5th – Sunday March 7th. Yup that’s right folks I said FRIDAY! If you’ve never been to Squaw for SnowFest Friday, you’ve been missing out. Imagine Squaw weekday empty AND the Mog boomin’ slopeside! Needless to say a huge percentage of the peeps on the hill you actually know… and that’s just heaven, not to mention catching all the Friday afternoon and evening festivities, good tunes with the Mog slopeside, cocktails, fireworks, torchlight parade, some Absolut/Bacardi Babes and always one missing kid with a frantic mom that gets found five minutes after her panic attack climaxes in explicatives yelled at the dj. Then there’s the after-party at the Plaza Bar with the SC djs, SF hipsters, Kiwi lift ops, and those legendary Squaw cougars!!! Saturday day we rock it at Squaw with the Mog all over again. This year we’ll be doing our Annual Saturday night Snow-down again at the Lakeside in Tahoe City… It’s only December, and we’ve still got BoC at Kelly’s and The Space Cowboys Show at the End Up between now and then, but all those reports of snow up there just got me all excited and I wanted to remind you to book your accommodations now! Those who know, know the Cowboys love the snow, so let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

Happy Holidays from all of us at the Space Cowboys!
